Awards night

Awards night

Hi everyone and welcome to the official Warriors players blog. This is the place to see the players opinions and views as well as our thoughts on match days, training sessions and events.

On Sunday 9th July we had our annual presentation evening, again this year the evening took place at The Junction Leisure Centre Broadstone. Before the presentation of any awards we watched the FIFPA World Cup 3rd place play-off which included England and I’m very pleased to say England won, beating the Aussies.

We then got on to some awards. The main difference between last year and this is that we have our Academy team running alongside our First team, so of course we had to have some awards for both teams. Similarly to last year we “Parents player” and “Player’s Player” awards as well as “Most Improved Player”. We also have new award called the “Golden Bumper” which is given to the top scorer.

We will start with the Academy team awards; Winning the Academy Parents Player of the year was Adam Sevenoaks, a massive well done to Adam! Next winning the Academy Player’s player of the year was the one and only Ronaldo. Well done to all the Academy players, you all put in a huge effort over the last year and all did brilliantly. Moving on to the First team awards; Winning the First team Parents Player of the was Matthew Adams, huge congrats to Matt. Winning the First team Player’s Players of the year was me, Liam. I did ok I guess. The well deserved award for Most Improved Player of the year was Sophie Pritchett, great work Sophie! Finally the “Golden Bumper” for the top scorer which was Mr Ryan Skinner!

On behalf of all the players thanks to all the parents and our fellow players for voting. I can confirm the votes were extremely close and there were many votes for many different players. After all the awards we watched the FIFPA World Cup final between the hosts and defending champions the USA and previous hosts France. In case you were wondering the French got their revenge.

It was a very fun evening enjoyed by all of the players and I’m sure everyone else had fun. It was also awesome to see and chat with our newest warrior, Lloyd. It was a brilliant end to a cracking season.

This has been the players blog please check back soon for more blogs.
